In order to promote a trouble-free healing processes, all customers receiving an ear piercing with QPP products should observe the following after care advice.

One of the most important parts of getting your ears pierced in taking care of them. In order to obtain the best results, please follow these essential steps:

  1. Thoroughly cleanse hands with an antibacterial soap or wet towel prior to any contact with your newly pierced ears. DO NOT remove the earrings. DO NOT handle your ears or your earrings unnecessarily.

  2. Cleanse the front and back of your ears 3 times a day by liberally applying an antiseptic cream, or if you do not have anything like this than use rubbing alcohol or peroxide. Then, without removing your earrings. Saturate a cotton ball or cotton swab with the antiseptic cream or alcohol. Next cleaning gently slide the earrings back & forth in your ear so the Antiseptic will go inside the piercing. Then gently rotate the earring a partial turn, both forward & backwards 2 to 3 times a day.

  3. For EAR LOBE PIERCINGS-Leave earrings in your ears for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, the earrings can be removed & other post type earrings can be inserted. Push the butterfly along the post towards the ear - the butterfly must always be positioned at the tip of the post. Feel the back of the butterfly each time you cleanse the ear - it must feel smooth. Post earrings must be worn at all times for the first 6 months to ensure that your ear piercing will remain the proper size.

  4. For EAR CARTILAGE PIERCING-Leave the earring in your ear for 8 to 12 weeks, the earrings can be removed & other post type earrings can be inserted. Some type of post earring must be worn at all times for the first 12 months to ensure that your ear piercing remain the proper size.

Due to the nature of ear cartilage, extra care should be observed during the healing period. Minor pain/redness may occur immediately - this is normal. This should settle within 48 hours provided proper after care is carried out. If undue pain/swelling/redness occurs at any time, seek medical advice immediately, before removing the ear-piercing stud. Failure to properly follow after-care procedures or to seek immediate medical advice should a problem occur may result in permanent scarring to the ear cartilage.
